- Check baby's temperature, heart rate and respiration
- Check umbilicus
- Monitor stools changing
- Monitor hydration with wet nappies
- Weigh baby when appropriate
- Monitor baby for jaundice
- Assist with any feeding problems
- Give a show bath if required
The home-visit really involves the Mum and Dad being supported with anything they are concerned about or struggling with. The midwife will assess the situation and give input on issues she feels are needed.
